KeRRA’s Participation In The 31st Annual Institution Of Engineers International Convention
The 31st Institution of Engineers of Kenya International Convention, held from October 29th to November 1st, 2024, at the Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort in Mombasa, was a remarkable gathering that showcased the future of engineering in Kenya. The theme for this year’s convention was “Industrialization for Economic Transformation & Employment Creation”. The Kenya Rural Roads Authority participated in this year’s convention as a major sponsor affirming its commitment to enhancing infrastructure development and innovation in the sector.
During the convention, the Authority was honoured by a courtesy visit from the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Mr. Davis Chirchir and the Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua, who stopped by our exhibition booth to engage with staff discussing our role in Connecting Devolved Kenya.
Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Government and Engineering professionals in driving economic transformation and creating sustainable employment opportunities through industrialization. This also highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships and the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Additionally, the CS and PS actively participated in a tree planting activity during the convention, supporting the government’s goal of planting 15 billion trees in the next 10 years.
The convention served as an excellent platform for networking and discussing strategies among the over 4,000 delegates drawn from the public and private sector organizations.
