TENDER NOTICE

 

(ADDENDUM NO 2)

UPGRADING TO BITUMEN STANDARD AND PERFORMANCE BASED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OF STALLED ROAD PROJECTS UNDER ROADS 10,000 LOW VOLUME SEAL ROADS (FY 23/24)

Reference is made to the Tender Notice that appeared in the Authority’s website and the Local Dailies dated 27th October, 2023, and the long Advert  dated 6th November, 2023 that appeared on our website on 6th November,2023 and addendum No1 issued on 17th November, 2023.

Interested Bidders are requested to note the following amendments for the Tenders published under the referenced Tender Notice;

  1. That Clarifications were Sought on on The BOQ  for Upgrading To Bitumen Standards and Performance Based Routine Maintenance of Mikinduri – Kunati - Katithine Road  In Meru County Tender No. - RWC 649 , Bill item no 5 and 7 as below;
  • There were no areas that require fill in hard material but under bill item 5.03 the quantity provision in 259,000.00
  • There were isolated areas that require rockfill, whereas under bill item 5.11 no quantity provided.

Responses to clarifications

  • Fill in hard material shall be required at various sections during implementation of the works and the same shall be instructed by the Engineer. The revised Bill Nos 5 and 7 are provided vide this addendum.
  • Bill No. 5.11 provides for rockfill to swampy areas. The project road does not traverse any swampy areas and as a result, the need for rockfill under this bill item is not foreseen.

The BOQ  for Upgrading To Bitumen Standards and Performance Based Routine Maintenance of Mikinduri – Kunati - Katithine Road  In Meru County Tender No. - RWC 649 , Bill item no 5 and 7 has been revised to reflect the correct quantities and is  attached as (Annex 1).

  1. That page ix of the Bid Document for Upgrading To Bitumen Standards And Performance Based Routine Maintenance Of Kipsaraman – Kinyach Road (Lot 1)- RWC 649 has been amended and is attached as (Annex 2).
  2. The Tender Document for Upgrading To Bitumen Standards And Performance Based Routine Maintenance Of – Kinyach – Arror – Kapsowar Road (Lot 2) )- RWC 651 has been ammended and uploaded to the Authorities website.
  3. Opening of the bids will take place immediately thereafter (from the respective dates and time as per tender Addendum No 1) at the Ground Floor Board Room, Barabara Plaza, Block B in the presence of the tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend.

Bids not received at the submission venue by the closing date and time will not be accepted for opening and will be rejected and returned unopened.

Errors in the pricing of the Bills of Quantities will not be corrected. Bidders with such errors will be disqualified.

All interested bidders are required to continually check the Kenya Rural Roads Authority website www.kerra.go,ke for any tender addendums or clarifications that may arise before submission date.
