INVITATION TO TENDER
IMPLEMENTATION OF ARID AND SEMI – ARID LAND (ASAL) RURAL ROADS PROGRAMME
The Government of Kenya has received a loan from Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD) – Credit No. CKE 1117 and EU grant towards the implementation of the Climate Proofed Arid and Semi-Arid Rural Roads Programme in the counties of Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Laikipia, Samburu, Isiolo and Marsabit, and intends to use part of these funds for Spot Improvement, Rehabilitation of roads to Gravel and Low Volume Seal (LVS) Standards using both Labour and Equipment based methods.
The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) invites sealed tenders from eligible Labour Based Contractors for;
1. The Rehabilitation and Improvement and Performance Based Routine Maintenance and
2. Low Volume Sealing (LVS) and Performance Based Routine Maintenance for various roads.
The various tenders are as detailed in the tables below;

Tendering will be conducted under open competitive bidding using a standard tender document.
These Tenders are OPEN to all qualified and interested citizen contractors.
Tender documents may be obtained electronically from the Authority’s Website (www.kerra.go.ke). Tender documents may be viewed and downloaded free of charge from the website. Tenderers who download the tender document must forward their particulars immediately to (procurementhq@kerra.go.ke) to facilitate any clarification or addendum.
Eligible Bidders must meet the qualification criteria as prescribed in the respective tender documents. Eligible Bidders must be registered as road works contractors with NCA and must meet the NCA category as detailed in the tender documents.
The pre-arranged pre-tender site visits are MANDATORY on the respective time and dates as specified above, to be conducted by the Client or his representative, at the respective specified assembly points.
Tenderers may participate in more than one tender but shall only be considered for award of one under this Tender Notice.
Completed tenders should be enclosed in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked “Tender Name………. and Tender No. …………………………………” and must be addressed and delivered to the respective Regional Offices or deposited in the tender Box located at the respective addresses indicated below on or before 6th May 2025 at 11:00am. Electronic Tenders will not be permitted.

Tenders will be opened immediately after the deadline date and time specified above at the respective Regional Offices. Tenders will be publicly opened in the presence of the Tenderers’ designated representatives who choose to attend. Late tenders will be rejected.
