RWC 644 – CONSTRUCTION OF VENTED DRIFT AT NAKWIJIT CROSSING.

S/NO.

SOUGHT CLARIFICATIONS

RESPONSE

a)

In the tender document RWC 644, the project vehicle, the special specifications mentions that the project vehicle shall revert to the contractor while the bill of quantities mentions that the project vehicle shall revert back to the employer.

The special specifications and Bills of Quantities have been harmonized to indicate that the project vehicle shall revert to the contractor upon the completion of works.

b)

The tender document RWC 644 is more related to structural works where materials like cement, steel are involved. We have noticed that there is no provision for variation of prices. In the recent past, there has been substantial increase in prices for fuel, transport, cement and steel.

Considering the market conditions in future there shall be increase in price of the same materials and thus it shall affect the cost to execute the works. It shall be a great challenge to deliver works within the contract period with the steep increase in price of the raw material. Therefore, we request for introduction of variation of prices of at least 15% on the summary page of the Bill of quantities.

The Bill Item for Variation of Prices has now been included in the Revised Bills of Quantities.

2.

RWC 645 – EMERGENCY BRIDGE PROTECTION WORKS AT THWAKE BRIDGE.

S/NO.

SOUGHT CLARIFICATIONS

RESPONSE

a)

The Appendix to form of Bid indicated a project completion period of 18 months while the Bills of Quantities indicated 8 Months.

The Appendix to form of Bid and the Bills of Quantities have been harmonized to indicate a project completion period of 18 months.

b)

The Contract No. has been changed from RWC 645 to RWC 645A
